What is DCD?
Arts Council England West Midlands' Digital Content Development (DCD) Programme is a three year programme of investment which aims to catalyse the creation and creative use of digital content platforms for arts organisations across the West Midlands region.
The key emphases of the programme are on an audience- centred approach and on the creation of sustainable content platforms that will continue to be programmed after the end of DCD support. The programme is running from 2008-2011 and has supported 35 projects across the full spectrum of cultural activity.
The DCD programme takes an active and proactive role in encouraging, enabling and facilitating strong project proposals through a multifaceted approach embracing advocacy, a wide range of events, surgeries, workshops and innovation labs. Project support continues throughout the project with catch-up surgeries and ‘any time’ advice and phone support.
DCD Co-ordination is by Manthorp ACT Ltd. and was carried out by DCD Co-ordinators Anna Douglas and Steve Manthorp, supported by Arts Council staff.
The DCD Selection panel comprised Anna Douglas, Jason Hall, Screen West Midlands and Claire McArdle, 4iP and was chaired by Steve Manthorp.
